In short

Bangkok Pride grew from a small march into a multi-day festival with a parade down Silom Road that now draws hundreds of thousands. It carries more weight since Thailand's marriage equality law took effect in January 2025, and the city has been selected to host WorldPride in 2030. The parade is the centrepiece; the surrounding programme covers awards, film, forums and a month of events across the country.

Go if

  • The parade route itself, which is walkable rather than spectator-only — anyone can join
  • Silom Soi 2 and Soi 4, the historic centre of Bangkok's gay nightlife, on parade night
  • Chiang Mai and Phuket, both of which run their own well-attended Pride events in the same window

Be aware

  • Silom and Rama IV close to traffic for most of the afternoon and evening; use the BTS or MRT
  • Late May in Bangkok is hot and wet — the parade regularly walks through a downpour
  • Hotel rates along Silom and Sathorn rise for the weekend

Dates

Late May into the first days of June, with the parade on a Sunday afternoon and evening. Pride Month events continue across Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket and Pattaya through June.
